CDL Driver Recruiter (Temporary)
Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Recruiter to join our team on a temporary basis for a minimum of 2 months. This position is responsible for screening and selecting candidates for driving positions. Essential work duties are maintaining candidate databases, selecting potential candidates, organizing interviews, reviewing online applications, posting recruitment ads to job boards, and maintaining contact with candidates during the recruitment process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruit CDL drivers by creating job postings via Internet, radio, newspaper, and trade publications.
- Determine whether candidates meet the Company standards and guidelines by examining drivers' employment history, motor vehicle reports, and licensing classifications.
- Conduct interviews with candidates via phone and in person.
- Responsible for hiring process of CDL Drivers
- Participate in offsite recruiting such as job fairs and travel to CDL schools to engage potential candidates.
- Structured and maintained detailed records of all activity as a recruiter
- Worked diligently to meet all monthly hiring goals.
- Assist in driver’s orientation.
- Complete drivers hiring information.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a recruiter, preferably with a focus on CDL or transportation hiring.
- Strong understanding of CDL requirements, DOT regulations, and driver qualification standards.
- Ability to independently manage the full recruitment lifecycle and make sound hiring decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and recruitment tools.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple openings.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight hiring deadlines.
- Flexibility to work extended or non-traditional hours as needed.
Education
- High Scholl Diploma or equivalent or 3 years of experience in the field.
Skills
Excellent organizational skills. excellent interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, communications skills.
Knowledge
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, experience with applicant tracking systems, fluent in English/Spanish, proficient with background check systems and basic knowledge of Labor Law.
Employment Type:
Temporary position (minimum of 2 months), with potential for extension based on business needs.
