CDL Driver/Mover/Packer - Class A

Duties

• Safely operate a Class A commercial vehicle, including manual transmission trucks, across designated routes while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
• Load and unload freight efficiently using forklifts or other equipment as needed, ensuring cargo safety and proper handling
• Transport various types of freight such as refrigerated goods, flatbed loads, tankers, or roll-off containers to multiple destinations
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues before and after each trip
• Plan optimal routes for timely deliveries and pickups, adjusting plans based on traffic or weather conditions
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo documentation, and delivery records in compliance with federal regulations
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to coordinate pickups, deliveries, or route changes

Skills

• Proven experience in truck driving with a valid CDL Class A license; familiarity with manual transmissions is preferred
• Experience operating specialized equipment such as forklifts or dump trucks is a plus
• Knowledge of freight handling procedures including load & unload techniques for various cargo types
• Ability to drive different vehicle configurations including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and roll-off trucks
• Strong understanding of route planning and delivery scheduling for efficient transportation
• Excellent safety awareness with the ability to perform thorough vehicle inspections and adhere to safety protocols
• Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients effectively

Pay: $29.00 - $32.00 per hour
