CDL Garbage Truck Operator

Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and reliable CDL Garbage Truck Operator to join our dynamic waste management team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating a rear loader to efficiently collect and transport waste materials. Duties

• Safely operate a variety of heavy-duty trucks such as front loader, rear loader, roll-off, dump trucks, tractor-trailers, and flatbeds to collect waste from designated routes.
• Load and unload waste materials efficiently using mechanical knowledge of truck mechanisms and lifting techniques.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
• Drive through assigned routes with precision, maintaining schedules while prioritizing safety on busy streets and residential areas.
• Assist with manual lifting of waste bins or containers when necessary, ensuring proper handling techniques are used to prevent injury.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding route progress or any operational issues.
• Maintain accurate logs of pickups, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance records in accordance with company policies.

Requirements

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for operating large trucks such as front loader, rear loader, roll-off, dump truck, tractor-trailer or flatbed.
• Proven experience in commercial driving, delivery driving or operating heavy-duty trucks in a municipal or private setting.
• Mechanical knowledge of truck systems including hydraulic lifts and loading mechanisms.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during waste collection processes.
• Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles is preferred.
• Strong driving skills with a clean driving record; experience with heavy equipment is highly desirable.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining safety standards. Pay: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour
