Full Job Description:

DeWitt Lumber Company, a family owned and operated business has a job opening for a full-time position on our yard staff, as a driver. This opening is responsible for delivering, picking up building materials and operating a forklift safely and effectively unloading and loading materials from truck.

Ability and desire to work directly with our customers and vendors. Experience in building material or lumber is preferred but not required. Chauffer’s or CDL Class B license and forklift license is a bonus. Pay is based on experience. At our company, we offer competitive wages and a great benefit package. Responsibilities:

-Responsible for delivering/picking up building materials to and from jobsites accurately, safely and efficiently.

-Make sure that delivery logs are filled out before leaving with the time out and time in upon returning.

-Load check and deliver invoiced material per direction, including special notes. Call the salesperson if there are any doubts or confusion before leaving the jobsite.

-Double check paperwork at the jobsite if there are multiple orders on the truck.

-Load and unload trucks when needed.

-Collect money on COD deliveries when noted.

-Per customer request, leave invoice copies at jobsite.

-Sign and date all delivery tickets, returns, and vendor pick-ups.

-Reassure that fuel levels never fall below half a tank and fuel is never filled up before a 1st am delivery.

-Be courteous and communicate well at jobsites. Ask personnel at jobsites if there are any returns to go back.

-Keep all vehicles clean at all times.

-Help in other areas of the yard when deliveries are slow.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
