CDL Truck Driver - Swing Driver - Waste Collection (Commercial, Residential, Rolloff)

Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced CDL Driver to operate various types of waste collection trucks as needed, including Front Loader Commercial Waste / Front Loader with Curotto Can Residential / Rear Loader, Container Delivery, and Roll Off - to provide waste service safely and effectively. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, experience with waste collection, strong work ethic, and excellent customer service skills. This full-time position involves delivering and retrieving waste containers and collecting waste at customer sites while maintaining safety standards and providing excellent customer service.

Duties

• Operates vehicles in accordance with Occupational and Safety Health Act (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements as well as all local, state and federal requirements and Company expectations for the Fleet; maintains a clean and safe vehicle.
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle using utilizing standard DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report); notes all issues on DVIR form for corrective review/repair.
• Load and unload containers at designated locations using mechanical equipment and manual labor when necessary.
• Positions containers on the customer’s property in a manner that ensures lids are properly replaced, containers are set in an upright position, and containers do not block driveway entrances or traffic.
• Perform routine inspections of vehicles before and after shifts to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance issues.
• Assist with the loading and unloading of materials, utilizing mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor issues as necessary.
• Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and vehicle inspection records.
• Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents or injuries during operations.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to coordinate pickups and deliveries and improve route customer satisfaction.

Experience / Qualifications

• Proven experience operating commercial waste collection trucks such as Front Loader, Rear Loader, Curotto Can, Container Delivery, Roll-Off, etc.
• Clean driving record with experience in commercial driving and delivery roles.
• Basic mechanical knowledge related to heavy-duty truck operation and preventative routine maintenance a plus.
• Ability to perform possible heavy lifting safely as part of daily duties.
• Knowledge of safety standards related to waste management is advantageous.
• Successfully complete pre-employment DOT drug screen, physical, and background check, which will include previous employment check, and motor vehicle record review.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $26.00 per hour
