We’re looking for an experienced CDL A Driver to join a team of experienced utility construction personnel.

Mirra Co. is a utility construction company specializing in civil electric, natural gas, and
turn-key telecommunication maintenance and construction. This position is for our Underground Civil Construction division which involves tasks of trenching and excavations, back filling, conduit placement, placement of concrete structures, asphalt paving, concrete restoration and general restoration. Most of our civil utility work takes place within temporary work zones; in roadways, sidewalks, and the side of roads.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Must operate truck equipped with a dump body to transport and dump loose materials such as sand, gravel, crushed rock, and bituminous paving materials.
• (CDL-A) Must be able to attach/detach trailer, drive with trailer, load and unload materials, equipment and properly secure loads.
• Must have skills to conduct pre-trip inspection checklist on equipment such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water.
• Must be able to handle paperwork concerning Department of Transportation regulations, freight weigh bills, fuel tickets and load tickets.
• Must be able to carry out detailed instructions, take directions to job sites, but also must be able to use good judgement in decision-making and be able to work without direct supervision.
• Must be a team player who will be involved on job sites helping with site set up, general housekeeping and material handling.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before vendors/ customers, Communicate with employees on job sites and with Law enforcement officers. Must be able to speak English as required by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.

Education, Skills, and Experience:
● High School diploma or equivalent is preferred
● Pass pre-employment and random drug screens
● 3+ year experience preferred
