The DAV Group - Chennai, functioning under the aegis of Tamil Nadu Arya Samaj Educational Society was established in 1970 at Gopalapuram in Chennai with just 50 students. The Group today, caters to over 40,000 students across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. It has a staff of 1500 plus which includes 1,200 teachers. In addition to K-12 schooling, DAV has recently ventured into Higher Education with DAV-SMK Fomra College of Arts & Science at Kelambakkam, Chennai.
Summary
We are seeking a creative and enthusiastic Art & Craft Teacher to join our co-curricular team. The ideal candidate should have a degree in Fine/Visual Arts (or equivalent) with good art skills and teaching temperament. The role involves delivering art & craft classes, guiding and mentoring students’ artistic growth, organising exhibitions/events, managing art resources, and contributing to the school’s creative and cultural environment.
Educational Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Visual Arts, Art Education or a related field (or equivalent).

(If required by school/board) Relevant teaching certification or art-education qualification / diploma.
Key Roles & Responsibilities

Plan and deliver art & craft lessons (drawing, painting, sculpture, craft work, etc.) suitable for different age-groups.

Help students learn various artistic techniques and mediums; encourage creativity, self-expression and aesthetic appreciation.

Assess and monitor students’ progress, provide feedback, and guide their artistic development.

Manage art materials and supplies; ensure proper maintenance of art room / resources.

Plan and organise art displays, exhibitions or school-level cultural/creative events showcasing student artwork.

Collaborate with other teachers/departments and contribute to overall co-curricular and cultural activities in school.
