CEJA-Pre-Apprenticeship Case Manager

Note: This is a temporary position with an anticipated date through mid-March 2026.

The Pre-Apprenticeship Case Manager will provide individualized and person-centered support services to program participants in the Clean Energy Pre-Apprenticeship Trade Program. The Case Manager will use identifiable strengths and resources to work with youth and adult students to complete training and transition students into trade occupations.

Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

Participant Management

  • Recruit students for the Pre-apprenticeship program.
  • Responsible for student support beginning with assessment during intake and continuing through training and employment transition.
  • Develop and monitor (through case management meetings) individualized service plans by establishing appropriate goals and objectives for each student.
  • Responsible for job development activities with students including resume building, mock interviews, and assisting with completing apprenticeship applications.
  • Create, coordinate and ensure students have access to appropriate supportive services such as transportation, childcare, jobs and other services, by reports or referrals.
  • Host make-up sessions, tutoring, or post-assessment retakes for students as needed.
  • Conduct the required post-program proactive follow-up of graduates.
  • Maintain a professional level of confidentiality in all work-related activities.
  • Communicate effectively and efficiently with students and staff.

Community Partnerships

  • Work with contractors, U.S. DOL-registered apprenticeship programs, DCEO-funded Energy Transition Navigators, and other partners to ensure the timely and successful transition of program graduates.

Administrative

  • Ensure case management data entry is current and accurate and documents student activity and/or circumstances in accurate and timely manner.
  • Implement student support services, participant progress reports, action plans, monitoring attendance and academic performance.

Environment:

The work is conducted at the Goodwill Administration and Mission Building with travel to various locations. Hours are primarily daytime hours, but on occasion, can include evening and/or weekend hours. Work is primarily performed in a professional office environment, which is generally climate-controlled but may involve exposure to typical office noise such as phones, printers, and conversations. The role involves computer-based tasks, meetings, and collaboration with colleagues, as well as occasional lifting of office and program supplies and moving between workspaces.

Qualifications & Basic Job Requirements:

  • A combination of education and relevant work experience that aligns with the duties of this position.
  • Functional use of Microsoft and Google applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of community resources and case management standards.
  • Ability to assess the needs of individuals with barriers.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to collaborate and cultivate community resources.
  • Ability to travel to locations within Goodwill’s territory on a regular schedule. Driver’s license and proof of auto insurance required.
