Title: Liaison, School Psychologist
Facilitates the psycho-educational and socio-emotional development of DeKalb County School District's (DCSD) students; provides comprehensive psychological services through consultation, promotion of primary prevention of academics, social, and emotional problems, intervention in crisis situations, assessment of problems and enhancement of staff development.
Essential Job Duties- Consults with parents, teachers, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams during Student Support Team (SST), Section 504, eligibility, Individualized Education Program (IEP), and other student-focused meetings to support educational planning and student success.
- Administers, interprets, and integrates psychological, behavioral, academic, and emotional assessments to determine eligibility, identify student needs, and develop recommendations for educational programming and interventions.
- Prepares comprehensive psychological and eligibility reports that summarize assessment findings, identify student strengths and areas of need, and support educational decision-making.
- Provides counseling, crisis intervention, and therapeutic support services to students individually and in groups to address academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
- Collaborates with school personnel to develop, implement, and monitor interventions, treatment plans, and specialized supports designed to improve student outcomes.
- Provides professional learning and technical assistance to staff regarding psychological services, response to intervention (RTI), student behavior, mental health, educational interventions, and related topics.
- Reviews student records, developmental histories, behavioral data, diagnostic information, and external reports to support evaluation, placement, and service recommendations.
- Analyzes regional and student performance data, conducts research, and collaborates with school psychologists and district staff to identify trends and support continuous improvement initiatives related to academic and mental-behavioral health services.
- Assists with the coordination and oversight of district psychological services activities, including extended work assignments, consultation with school psychologists, community agency referrals, and other duties as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications- Master's Degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or closely related area from a Georgia Professional Standards approved accredited college or university required.
- Minimum one (1) year of professional level psychometrics, school psychology, counseling, or closely related experience required.
- Valid Professional Standards Commission approved certificate in psychology at level S-5 or above or valid licensure as a clinical psychologist issued by the State of Georgia required.
