Position Overview:

We’re seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Ceramic Instructor with at least 1 year of teaching experience in hand building, sculpting, wheel throwing, and kiln operation. With small class sizes (3-10 students), you’ll have the opportunity to provide personalized instruction in a fun, collaborative, and inspiring studio environment. This position offers room for growth and advancement, making it ideal for passionate educators who want to share their artistic skills and inspire creativity through clay.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Teach engaging ceramic classes focused on hand building, sculpting, wheel throwing, and kiln operation.
  • Provide individualized instruction and feedback to students in small group settings (3-10 students)
  • Create a positive, energetic, and encouraging classroom environment that fosters creativity and confidence
  • Maintain an organized and safe studio, including clay preparation, tool care, and kiln management
  • Inspire students to explore different styles, techniques, and artistic expression through ceramics
  • Collaborate with the art department to develop new projects and contribute ideas for program growth

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year teaching experience in ceramics, including hand building, sculpting, wheel throwing, and kiln operation.
  • Submission of a completed portfolio showcasing relevant work.
  • Hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) or Master of Fine Art (MFA) degree
  • Available to work weekday evenings and Saturdays

Compensation:

$18 -$30 per hour based on experience and qualifications
