About the role:

Location: Sharjah, UAE

Hours: Full-time

The Certification and Inspection Technician is responsible for planning, executing, and conducting Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) operations, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, safety regulations, and quality requirements.

The Certification and Inspection Technician is responsible for conducting comprehensive visual, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), and Magnetic Rope Testing (MRT) inspections of Motive FZE’s and client equipment. The technician will also commission and operate spooling winches and associated equipment, ensuring all operations are performed within established safety and operational standards while maintaining clear and effective communication with clients and the Operations Department.

About the team:

As a part of our FZE team, you’ll become part of a small, hardworking, and skilled team who are used to working to a high standard and specification. Reporting to the C&I Division Manager for MENA, you will be supported by our team of onshore and offshore personnel working alongside you, whose goal, much like your own, will be to enable a quick and safe turn-around of equipment.

As well, you will be working alongside a committed and proud Motive team globally, who want to play their part in the growth of the business and support each other daily to create a positive, values-driven professional environment.


Responsibilities:

People

  • Adopt the Motive Offshore Group People Values and ensure their use is embedded throughout day-to-day tasks and decision making.
  • Liaise and build rapport with the client whilst at the worksite.
  • Develop strong working relations with key stake-holders – clients, colleagues etc.
  • To be a positive ambassador for Motive Offshore Group Ltd.


Planet

  • HSEQ – compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations, and the company’s management system.
  • Participate in internal and external training courses where identified.


Product

On-Site Duties

  • Visual Inspections: Perform thorough visual assessments of rental fleet and lifting equipment.
  • Equipment Management: Oversee the maintenance, management, and certification processes for equipment.
  • Database Administration: Maintain and update the Motive online certification database accurately.
  • Non-Destructive Testing: Conduct NDT on rental fleet equipment to ensure integrity and compliance.
  • Workshop Support: Assist with general workshop duties as and when required.
  • Wire Rope Operations: Support tasks including spooling, inspection, and socketing of wire ropes

Off-Site Duties (Local & Offshore)

  • Field Inspections: Carry out visual inspections of lifting equipment and accessories at various sites.
  • Advanced Testing: Execute non-destructive testing and magnetic rope testing on site.
  • Database Utilization: Use the Motive online certification database for remote equipment management.
  • Wire Rope Maintenance: Manage wire rope spooling, socketing, and inspection tasks.
  • Crane Operations: Facilitate the removal and installation of crane wire ropes.
  • Global Engagement: Participate in offshore operations and work assignments across international locations as required.


Required skills / knowledge:

  • Standard C&I Technician role with mandatory PAUT (Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing) qualification and demonstrable field experience.
  • Non-destructive testing certification.
  • LEEA Lifting equipment inspection certification
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Educated to a proficient standard
  • Experience operating machinery.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize workload
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Self-motivated
  • Good communication skills.
  • Offshore survival & medical (can be provided).
  • Rope access certification (can be provided).
  • Eddy current inspection (can be provided).
