We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Caregiver to provide high-quality care to individuals in various settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and home & community care environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in senior care, memory care, and working with individuals with disabilities. This role involves supporting residents with daily activities, health monitoring, and ensuring their comfort and safety through personalized care. Certification in caregiving and relevant experience are essential to deliver exceptional service and support the well-being of those under your care.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to track health status
- Administer medications following prescribed schedules and protocols
- Provide specialized care for residents with dementia, Alzheimer's, or other memory impairments
- Support residents with behavioral management strategies to promote a safe and respectful environment
- Operate medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts and EMR systems accurately and safely
- Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with dietary restrictions and preferences
- Maintain cleanliness of residents’ living areas and assist with light housekeeping tasks
- Document care activities thoroughly in electronic health records (EHR/EMR systems)
- Support residents' social engagement through companionship and recreational activities
- Assist with transportation needs, including driving residents to appointments or outings when required
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members to coordinate comprehensive care plans
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Caregiver or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred
- Experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care environments highly desirable
- Knowledge of Alzheimer’s/dementia/memory care techniques and behavior management strategies
- Ability to assist with ADLs and provide personal care with compassion and professionalism
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or special needs preferred
- Familiarity with vital signs measurement, medication administration, EMR systems, and use of mobility aids like Hoyer lifts
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and healthcare teams
- Ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting or transferring residents safely
- Valid driver’s license is a plus for transportation duties
- Commitment to maintaining resident confidentiality and adhering to safety protocols
