Must be certified in Hemodialysis. Previous dialysis experience is preferred but not required, although, if not certified MUST be agreeable to obtain certification.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and set up dialysis equipment according to established protocols, ensuring all devices are functioning properly before patient procedures.
  • Monitor patients closely during dialysis treatments, observing vital signs, physiological responses, and overall well-being throughout each session.
  • Assist patients with their needs before, during, and after dialysis, providing comfort and reassurance while maintaining a respectful and empathetic demeanor.
  • Follow strict aseptic techniques to prevent infections and maintain a sterile environment during all procedures.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of treatment details, patient responses, and any incidents or anomalies observed during dialysis sessions.
  • Collaborate with nephrologists, nurse practitioners, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and address any concerns promptly.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols related to dialysis procedures, infection control, and patient safety standards.

Skills

  • Proven experience in dialysis treatment or as a Patient Care Technician in a clinical setting.
  • Strong knowledge of physiology related to renal function and the effects of dialysis on the body.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology used in nephrology and dialysis care.
  • Excellent understanding of aseptic techniques to uphold infection control standards.
  • Solid knowledge of human anatomy relevant to vascular access sites and renal systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to accurately document treatments and observations. Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
