We are a fast-paced, patient-focused interventional radiology practice dedicated to delivering high-quality, minimally invasive care. Our team values professionalism, efficiency, and clinical excellence, and we are seeking a dependable Clinical Medical Assistant to support our growing operations.
The Clinical Medical Assistant (CMA) plays a critical role in supporting physicians and clinical staff in both patient care and procedural workflow. This position requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a high-performance medical environment. Responsibilities include preparing patients for examinations and procedures by obtaining vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints; assisting physicians during exams and in-office procedures; providing pre- and post-procedure instructions; monitoring patients during recovery and reporting any concerns promptly; performing phlebotomy and specimen collection; and initiating and maintaining intravenous (IV) access in accordance with certification and physician direction.
This role also involves preparing and maintaining procedure rooms using proper sterile technique, setting up and breaking down instruments and procedure trays, assisting with patient flow and room turnover, and ensuring all equipment and supplies are ready and compliant. The CMA will be responsible for accurately documenting patient information in the electronic health record, assisting with procedure notes and consents, verifying required labs such as CBC and CMP prior to procedures, and coordinating with front office and referral teams to ensure complete and accurate patient records.
Strict adherence to HIPAA, OSHA, infection control standards, and radiation safety protocols, including ALARA principles, is required at all times. The CMA must properly handle sharps, biohazard materials, and personal protective equipment while maintaining a clean, organized, and compliant clinical environment. Additional responsibilities include maintaining and stocking clinical supplies, assisting with inventory tracking and ordering, and supporting the clinical team during high-volume periods.
Qualified candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and have completed a Medical Assistant program or have equivalent experience. Current certification as a CMA, RMA, or equivalent is required, and a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. An active IV certification is required, and candidates must demonstrate competency in IV placement and management. IV certification must be maintained in good standing as a condition of continued employment. Experience in interventional radiology, surgery, or a specialty clinic setting is highly preferred, along with phlebotomy experience, familiarity with electronic health records, and knowledge of sterile technique.
We are looking for a detail-oriented, organized, and dependable professional who can multitask effectively in a fast-paced clinical setting while maintaining strong communication and patient care skills. The work environment includes a clinical and procedural setting with exposure to biohazard materials and controlled radiation, requiring strict adherence to all safety protocols.
