Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated entry-level Professional Fee Medical Coder with recent hands-on experience coding Evaluation & Management (E/M) services for Emergency Medicine and/or Hospitalist providers.

This position is ideal for coders looking to expand their professional fee coding expertise in a quality-driven, compliance-focused environment.

Important Requirement: Applicants must have at least 1 year of recent Professional Fee E/M coding experience in Emergency Medicine and/or Hospitalist services within the past 1–2 years.

What You Will Do

  • Review provider documentation and assign accurate ICD-10-CM diagnoses, CPT® procedure codes, and applicable modifiers.
  • Apply 2026 E/M Documentation Guidelines and 2025-26 ICD-10-CM Official Coding Guidelines.
  • Successfully manage a high-volume coding workload while maintaining a minimum 95% coding accuracy rate and meeting productivity expectations.
  • Code encounters involving teaching physician and resident documentation in accordance with CMS and CPT® guidelines.
  • Apply shared/split visit billing guidelines, including appropriate billing provider selection based on substantive portion requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA Security Rules, company policies, and departmental procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • CPC® or CPC-A® certification required.
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Professional Fee E/M coding experience in Emergency Medicine and/or Hospitalist within the past 1–2 years (Required – No Exceptions).
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and stay organized.
  • Strong attention to detail and compliance awareness.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.

Home Office Requirements

  • A dedicated, private workspace with a closing door is required to maintain a secure and focused work environment.
  • Ability to maintain an environment free of ongoing distractions during scheduled work hours (including conflicting responsibilities that are not work-related).
  • Non-shared desktop or laptop computer.
  • Dual monitors.
  • Reliable high-speed or fiber internet connection.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Proficiency with 10-key data entry.
