Duties

  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly using aseptic techniques.
  • Assist dentists chairside during dental procedures including orthodontic dentistry, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Take and develop dental X-rays and utilize advanced imaging tools such as 3D scanners to support accurate diagnoses.
  • Manage patient records efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Epic while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
  • Perform vital signs assessments and medical imaging to monitor patient health before procedures.
  • Support front desk operations as a dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing medical documentation.
  • Practice four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize workflow and reduce procedure time while maintaining high standards of infection control and anatomy knowledge.

Requirements

  • Valid certification as a Dental Assistant with experience in dental assisting within a clinical setting.
  • Proficiency with EMR systems such as Itero; familiarity with medical coding and records management is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques.
  • Experience with X-ray procedures, medical imaging tools, pediatric and ortho dentistry practices preferred.
  • Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently in general dentistry environments including prosthodontics and endodontics cases.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics.

Pay: $25.67 - $30.91 per hour
