Certified Dental Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Certified Dental Assistant to join our vibrant dental team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in delivering exceptional patient care while supporting the clinical operations of our busy dental practice. Your expertise in chairside assisting, infection control, and dental procedures will ensure a smooth and efficient patient experience from start to finish. Responsibilities

  • Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry
  • Prepare treatment rooms with the necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control standards are upheld
  • Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed
  • Manage patient records accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Monitor vital signs and medical documentation for patients with special needs or medical conditions
  • Provide patient education on oral health care, post-treatment instructions, and dental terminology explanations
  • Support the dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and managing insurance claims with medical coding expertise

Skills

  • Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices
  • Experience with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation
  • Skilled in taking X-rays and utilizing medical imaging technology including 3D scanners when necessary
  • Familiarity with HIPAA compliance to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality at all times
  • Ability to perform vital signs assessment and assist with pediatric dentistry procedures effectively
  • Knowledge of dental specialties such as prosthodontics and endodontics to support diverse treatment plans
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and educate patients about their oral health
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies like medical coding software or advanced imaging tools
