Job Description

We are seeking a certified Georgia teacher to work in-home with a 4th grade student in Stone Mountain, GA (30083) who would benefit from additional support in reading and writing development.

The student currently has an IEP at school and has been receiving support for reading gaps since second grade. He is still experiencing difficulty with phonics patterns such as digraphs, and his writing skills are currently below grade level. The family is looking for a skilled educator who can help fill foundational literacy gaps and build stronger writing skills over time.

The ideal tutor will be able to provide structured, patient instruction while helping the student gain confidence and strengthen core literacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted support in reading and writing for a 4th grade student
• Help reinforce phonics and decoding skills, including digraphs
• Support development of stronger writing structure, grammar, and organization
• Assist with filling foundational literacy gaps
• Build the student’s confidence and independence in reading and written expression

Qualifications

• Active and valid Georgia teaching certification required
• Experience teaching elementary literacy (reading and writing)
• Familiarity with supporting students who have IEPs or learning gaps
• Patient, structured, and encouraging teaching approach
• Reliable and punctual

About the Role

This is an independent contractor position with minimal paperwork, online time submission, and twice-monthly pay. Once onboarded, tutors may also be contacted about additional tutoring opportunities based on availability and fit.
