The base salary for the position is $57,449.26. The $64,630.42 salary listed above includes a 12.5% Firefighter/Paramedic pay supplement. ***** The earning potential for this position, depending on qualifications and assignment is up to $72,951.58 within the first year of employment. *****Minimum age of 18 years of age.High school diploma or equivalent. An evaluation of foreign high school diploma may be required.Must possess current State of Florida Firefighter II certificate at time of application.State of Florida Paramedic license is required for the position. Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) administered through the National Testing Network. Your test results must be submitted with your application. Must successfully pass the Swim Test prior to submitting an application. We will accept the swim test administered by the Broward College Testing Center or the Broward Fire Academy Physical Agility Test. Your swim test results must be submitted with your application.Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification through the American Heart Association or equivalent is required.Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association or equivalent is required. Must possess and maintain throughout employment, a valid Florida driver license without any restrictions affecting job performance. Driver license must show current address. All candidates must submit with the application, a Certified Department of Motor Vehicles "entire" driving history.Florida driving histories can be obtained at any courthouse in Broward County. Three-year (3), Seven-year (7), and online Florida driving history records will not be accepted.If you have possessed a driver's license in any other state in the past 10 years you will need to submit an "entire" driving history from that state. For non-Florida driving histories, please contact that state's division of motor vehicles.The search date for all driving histories must be within one month of the date the application for employment is received by the Bureau of Human Resources.Driving history records must be attached to the online application.If ever arrested, candidates must submit official court documents and police reports with the application. A written statement explaining the arrest and the outcome must also be attached to the application for review. Official court documents can be obtained from the Clerk of the Court in the county in which the incident occurred. Documents must be submitted with your application. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
This is technical work in the field of emergency response in the application of emergency medical care; in the prevention, control, and suppression of fire (both structural and non-structural); and in response to natural and human-made disasters. Work is public safety oriented in the protection of life and property through the application of technical knowledge, skills, and abilities in the fields of fire science, hazardous materials management, building construction, and emergency medicine. Work is of a physical nature and involves an element of personal danger. Employees must be able to act without direct supervision and to exercise independent discretion in addressing emergency situations. Work assignments and instructions are received from a supervisor who reviews work methods and results through observation, reports and discussion. Incumbents perform essential functions as outlined herein according to location and functional assignment area. Performs related work as directed.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
