Position Summary

The Home Health Aide (HHA) provides personal care and support services to patients in their homes under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role focuses on promoting patient comfort, safety, and dignity while assisting with activities of daily living and implementing the patient’s Plan of Care.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care services such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
• Assist patients with mobility, transfers, ambulation, and range-of-motion exercises.
• Monitor and report any changes in the patient’s physical or emotional condition to the supervising RN.
• Assist with light housekeeping and maintaining a safe, clean, and healthy home environment.
• Help patients with meals, nutrition, and fluid intake as directed.
• Take and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure).
• Document care provided and observations accurately and promptly.
• Follow infection control and safety procedures at all times.
• Participate in ongoing training and in-service education (minimum of 12 hours per year).

Qualifications

Required:

• Current California Home Health Aide (HHA) certification
• Minimum 6 months experience in home health, hospital, or nursing home setting
• Reliable transportation, valid Driver’s License, and proof of auto insurance
• Ability to lift 50–75 lbs and perform tasks requiring standing, bending, and mobility
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with patients, families, and staff

Preferred:

• CNA experience
• Knowledge of home health documentation and procedures

Required Credentials (must remain current):

• Proof of ACTIVE CERTIFIED HOME HEALTH AIDE
• Driver’s License & Auto Insurance
• TB Test / Chest X-Ray
• Physical Exam
• CPR Certification

Pay: $40,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
