Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our facial plastic surgery office. In this vital role, you will support patient care by performing clinical and administrative tasks that ensure smooth daily operations. Your enthusiasm and professionalism will help create a positive experience for our patients while maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Post operative care including suture and staple removal and hair washes.
  • Prepare examination rooms and assist surgeons during procedures with sterilization and instrument handling
  • Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions, explaining procedures, and ensuring comfort throughout visits
  • Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems efficiently for documentation and scheduling purposes
  • Support medication administration under supervision when necessary, adhering to safety protocols
  • Maintain knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, ICD coding, and basic life support procedures to ensure accurate communication and safety
  • Administrative assistance by answering phones, billing patients, collecting payments, rooming patients, and taking medical photographic records.

Preferred Skills

  • Previous experience in dermatology or plastic surgery, hospital medicine, outpatient clinics, or surgical settings is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medication administration
  • Familiarity with EHR systems and medical-surgical practices
  • Proficiency in phlebotomy
  • Proficiency in EKG
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-pace environment
  • Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time and lift equipment/patients
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent preferred

Requirements

  • Certification as CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant)
  • Experience required: 1+ year as a medical assistant or CNA
  • Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques
