Certified Medical Assistant

MEDICAL ASSISTANT

Bozeman Primary Care is a family medical practice that aims to innovate healthcare delivery and elevate the patient experience. We are looking for an enthusiastic & dedicated medical assistant to be part of our team & bring outstanding patient care to Bozeman. This position consists of working during business hours 2 days a week. If needed, can be flexible with scheduling. We can’t wait to meet you!

Job Duties

  • Perform clinical duties under the direction of MD/DNP including:

a. Taking and recording vital signs
b. Preparing patients for exam
c. Assisting health care providers with exams and procedures
d. Explaining exam/treatment procedures to patients
e. Collecting lab specimens and performing lab tests
f. Instructing patients regarding medications, referrals, follow-up appointments
g. Administering medications
h. Administering injections
i. Performing ECG and Spirometry tests

  • Perform administrative support duties including:

a. Making appointments
b. Obtaining and managing medical records
c. Returning patient and other incoming phone calls
d. Managing returned lab/x-ray reports

  • Perform materials management duties including:

a. Stocking offices and exam rooms
b. Cleaning and sterilization of equipment
c. Preparing exam room between patients

  • Perform customer service duties including:

a. Listening and responding to patient needs
b. Managing patient flow
c. Assuring privacy and confidentiality

Preferred (not required) Qualifications

  • Completed an educational program for medical assistants
  • Passed a national certification exam to be either a Certified Medical Assistant or a Registered Medical Assistant
  • Current certification in basic life support (BLS) for health care providers
  • Two or more years of experience working as a medical assistant or related field
  • Demonstrated excellent skills in patient care support functions
  • Demonstrated excellent skills in communicating with medical staff and patients

Physical Demands

  • Exposure to blood-borne and other pathogens inherent to working in a health care setting. (Employees are provided with training and equipment that complies with OSHA requirements).
