Duties
- Perform patient intake by collecting detailed medical histories and recording vital signs with precision and compassion
- Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures across specialties such as dermatology, internal medicine, geriatrics, and surgical units
- Administer medications and injections following proper protocols, including basic life support (BLS) guidelines
- Operate Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems efficiently to document patient encounters accurately and ensure seamless information flow
- Support diagnostic procedures such as X-ray imaging and basic physiology assessments in outpatient or hospital settings
- Conduct ICD coding for diagnoses to facilitate billing and record-keeping processes
- Manage patient flow by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and providing excellent patient service throughout the visit
- Prepare exam rooms, sterilize equipment, and assist with clinical procedures in high-pressure environments like Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers
- Support hospital medicine teams by monitoring vital signs, assisting with inpatient care routines, and supporting PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) or OR (Operating Room) activities as needed
- Maintain compliance with safety standards including medication administration protocols and emergency response procedures
Experience
- Prior experience working in outpatient clinics or hospital settings such as emergency departments or medical-surgical units is highly desirable
- Hands-on experience with dermatology clinics, urgent care centers, or Level I/II trauma centers enhances your candidacy
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology across various specialties including geriatrics, internal medicine, and pediatrics is essential
- Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD coding practices, X-ray operations, and EHR systems is required
- Proven ability to support inpatient care routines in hospital environments or ICU settings demonstrates versatility
- Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program is mandatory; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required upon hire
- Experience supporting diverse patient populations across outpatient clinics or hospital units will set you apart
