Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care and medical administrative support, with experience in various medical settings such as dermatology, urgent care, and hospital medicine. This role requires proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and a solid understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology. The Certified Medical Assistant will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care while ensuring the smooth operation of our medical facility.

Responsibilities

• Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Perform intake assessments, including obtaining vital signs and medical history from patients.
• Administer medications as directed by physicians and monitor patients for any adverse reactions.
• Maintain accurate patient records in EHR systems, including documentation of ICD coding for diagnoses.
• Provide medical administrative support, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.
• Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care instructions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care in various settings such as outpatient clinics, emergency medicine, and inpatient units.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experiences:

• Experience in dermatology, urgent care, hospital medicine, or internal medicine is preferred.
• Familiarity with basic life support (BLS) techniques.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ICD coding.
• Previous experience in a Level I or Level II trauma center is advantageous.
• Exposure to various specialties such as geriatrics, pediatrics (PICU), surgical procedures (OR experience), and medical-surgical units is beneficial.
• Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
