<Job Overview>
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent patient service skills, proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, and a thorough understanding of medical procedures and terminology. The Certified Medical Assistant will support clinical operations by providing exceptional patient care, assisting physicians, and ensuring smooth clinic workflows.

<Duties>

  • Phone calls–obtain and document patient symptoms/problems with timely and proper communication to provider; schedule an appointment as appropriate; answer patient questions after communication with provider; provide timely and courteous return calls if warranted.
  • Preparation of patient for exam – room patients, take vitals, interview patient in order to record symptoms, vital signs and medications. Obtain medical information prior to telehealth visits.
  • Assist with patient flow through the Clinic.
  • Prioritize duties to work to maximum efficiency.
  • Clean and restock exam rooms; order supplies as needed.
  • Assist with procedures - setting up necessary equipment, explaining and preparing patient, assist provider as needed.
  • Provide appropriate paperwork such as medical release forms, non-covered service waivers, etc.
  • Charting – document appropriate information clearly and accurately, including all phone calls and follow-ups.
  • Diagnostic procedures – scheduling, retrieving, discussion of results with provider and patient where appropriate, arranging needed follow-up.
  • Medications – refills to pharmacies as directed by provider; basic knowledge of medication used in provider’s practice.
  • Support Provider’s Directive - Reinforce provider’s health care plan for patient, coordinate follow-up care and encourage patient adherence to therapy, initiate recall notices to patients as appropriate.

<Experience>

  • Proven experience working as a Medical Assistant in urgent care centers, or outpatient clinics.
  • Familiarity with EHR systems and ICD coding for accurate documentation and billing processes.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to inpatient and outpatient care settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform vital signs assessment, medication administration within scope of practice, and basic life support certification is required.
  • Strong communication skills combined with a compassionate approach to patient service are essential for success in this role.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.08 - $24.20 per hour
