Certified Medical Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Certified Medical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care across various clinical settings, including outpatient clinics, hospital environments, and specialized units such as emergency medicine, dermatology, and geriatrics. Your expertise will support physicians and healthcare providers by performing clinical tasks, managing patient interactions, and ensuring smooth administrative operations. Duties

  • Assist with patient intake by collecting medical histories, verifying insurance information, and updating electronic health records (EHR systems)
  • Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately and efficiently
  • Prepare patients for examinations or procedures by explaining processes and ensuring comfort
  • Support physicians during procedures including medication administration, basic life support (BLS), and assisting with X-ray or other diagnostic imaging as needed
  • Document clinical notes thoroughly using medical terminology and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Perform basic physiology and anatomy assessments to support diagnosis and treatment planning
  • Manage medical supplies, prepare examination rooms, and assist with inpatient or outpatient procedures in various settings such as Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers

Qualifications

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification from an accredited program is required
  • Proven experience in hospital medicine, emergency medicine, or outpatient clinics—preferably within hospital or Level I/II trauma centers
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, ICD coding, and medication administration protocols
  • Hands-on experience with EHR systems and medical administrative support tasks such as scheduling and patient check-in/out processes
  • Familiarity with specialized areas including dermatology, internal medicine, geriatrics, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), OR (Operating Room), or medical-surgical units is highly desirable
  • Ability to perform X-ray procedures or assist in emergency situations with confidence and professionalism
  • Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations across inpatient and outpatient settings
