Medical Assistant
Exciting opportunity to be a part of a growing independent Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation clinic. The Medical Assistant (MA) will be responsible for providing clinical assistance to Coast Injury patients. The Medical Assistant will provide assistance to the physician with any and all clinical duties to include (though not limited to): preparing procedural equipment, ordering supplies, managing diagnostic tests and relaying results to patients and their families, and providing pre and post visit support to both clinical and procedural patients. Principally, though not exclusively, the MA will be working with multiple practitioners.
Responsibilities Include:
-Assisting and escorting patients to the examination room
-Interviewing patients, obtaining vitals, and recording patients’ medical information
-Accurately documenting patient information into the electronic health record (EHR)
-Requesting prior authorizations and performing proper correspondence with case managers and outgoing referrals.
-Answering and returning patient phone calls
-Provide staff administrative support and back-up including answering phones, front desk, appointment scheduling, and requesting medical records as needed.
-Assisting with patient preparation and positioning during fluoroscopic procedures as directed by physician.
-Assisting patients with questions or concerns regarding their treatment under the supervision of the physician.
-Perform maintenance & testing logs for equipment.
-Perform proper sterilization of equipment and exam rooms.
-Prepare and perform phlebotomy techniques for blood draws, maintaining a focus on patient comfort and adherence to safety and hygiene standards.
Knowledge and Skills:
-Must be organized and detail-oriented
-Strong initiative and planning skills
-Excellent communication skills
-Knowledge of medical terminology
-Experience with Patient Electronic Health Records and Practice Management Systems; working knowledge of eClinical Works a plus
-Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
Education and Work Experience:
-High school diploma or equivalent
-At least 1 year experience in a medical office -experience in Orthopedic/pain management preferred
-Current WA Medical Assistant Certification (Required)
Working Conditions:
-Must be able to assist patients with standing, sitting and getting on the examination table.

-Must be able to stand, pivot and walk frequently throughout the day
