Certified Medical Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Certified Medical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care, support clinical operations, and assist with medical procedures across a variety of specialties including dermatology, urgent care, hospital medicine, and outpatient clinics. Your expertise will help ensure smooth clinic flow, accurate documentation, and compassionate patient interactions. Responsibilities

  • Prepare examination rooms and assist healthcare providers with patient procedures in outpatient and inpatient settings.
  • Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and patient intake information with accuracy and professionalism.
  • Support physicians with clinical tasks such as medication administration, X-ray procedures, and basic life support during emergencies.
  • Manage electronic health record (EHR) systems efficiently to document patient encounters, ICD coding, and treatment plans.
  • Assist with specimen collection, basic physiology and anatomy assessments, and prepare patients for diagnostic tests including ultrasound or X-ray.
  • Provide excellent patient service by answering questions, explaining procedures, and ensuring comfort throughout visits.
  • Support medical administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and maintaining compliance with hospital protocols including Level I & II trauma center standards.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and ICD coding for accurate documentation.
  • Experience working in dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, or emergency medicine environments.
  • Familiarity with EHR systems and outpatient/inpatient workflows across diverse healthcare settings.
  • Ability to perform intake assessments, measure vital signs, and assist with medication administration confidently.
  • Knowledge of hospital experience requirements including Level I & II trauma centers and PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) settings.
  • Skilled in X-ray procedures or OR experience is a plus; familiarity with geriatrics and medical-surgical units is advantageous.
  • Excellent patient service skills combined with the ability to work efficiently under pressure in fast-paced environments such as emergency medicine or Level I trauma centers.
