Certified Medical Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care and administrative support, with experience in various medical settings including dermatology, urgent care, and hospital medicine. This role is essential for ensuring high-quality patient service and efficient clinic operations.

Duties

• Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
• Perform intake assessments, including taking vital signs and documenting medical histories.
• Administer medications as prescribed and ensure proper documentation in EHR systems.
• Conduct basic life support procedures when necessary.
• Manage patient flow within the clinic or hospital setting to optimize efficiency.
• Provide administrative support, including scheduling appointments and managing medical records.
• Maintain knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ICD coding for accurate patient documentation.
• Support outpatient and inpatient care, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in various departments such as internal medicine, geriatrics, and emergency medicine.
• Assist with X-ray procedures as needed and provide care in specialized areas such as PICU or OR environments.

Skills

• Proficiency in EHR systems for efficient patient management.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ICD coding.
• Experience in dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, and internal medicine settings.
• Ability to perform basic life support and administer medications safely.
• Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to care.
• Familiarity with both outpatient and inpatient care practices.
• Knowledge of medical-surgical protocols and level I/II trauma center operations.
