Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Certified Medical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake by collecting comprehensive health histories and documenting vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature using EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems such as Optimantra
- Assist healthcare providers with clinical procedures including preparation, and basic life support during emergencies.
- Support outpatient care settings by managing patient flow, preparing examination rooms, and ensuring proper sterilization of equipment.
- Conduct basic physiology and anatomy assessments to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Document medical information accurately using ICD coding for diagnoses and procedures to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Maintain clear communication with patients regarding their care plans while demonstrating excellent patient service skills.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing medical records within EHR systems.
- Administer injections, vaccines, phlebotomy & EKGs
- Assist providers during exams and procedures
- Handle refill requests, prior auths & EHR documentation
- Call patients to communicate lab results after provider reviews
- Weekly supply audit; notify manager of low inventory
Experience
- Proven experience working as a Medical Assistant in outpatient clinics or hospital settings with exposure to internal medicine, or urgent care environments.
- Hands-on experience with medical procedures including vital signs collection.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding standards, and physiology is essential for accurate documentation and effective patient care.
