Certified Medical Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience in outpatient medical settings and working with all age ranges. In this role, the candidate will support both clinical and administrative functions, working closely with the provider to ensure a smooth, welcoming, and efficient experiences for every patient.

Duties

• Prepare exam rooms and assist healthcare provider with patient examinations, procedures as needed.
• Perform intake procedures, including taking vital signs, documenting brief medical histories, reviewing medication lists, and maintaining documentation of preventative health screenings.
• Administer injections, immunizations, and medications as directed by physicians and document accordingly.
• Utilize Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems to maintain accurate patient records.
• Conduct basic life support (BLS) as needed in emergency situations.
• Support patient service initiatives to enhance the overall patient experience.
• Schedule appointments, answer phones, document messages, and respond to patient inquires.
• Communicate with multidisciplinary teams in various medical specialties to obtain patient records or information.
• Follow-up on test results, medical information, and referrals
• Ensure compliance with medical terminology and coding standards, including ICD coding.
• Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment in accordance with health regulations.

Skills
The successful candidate will possess a combination of the following skills:

• A basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology to assist in patient assessments.
• Previous experience in a primary care or family medicine setting preferred.
• Proficiency in medical administrative support tasks to facilitate smooth clinic operations.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
• Capability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
