Duties
- Assist with patient intake by collecting medical histories, vital signs, and current medications using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures in outpatient clinics or hospital settings, including dermatology, urgent care, or trauma centers
- Administer medications and injections following proper protocols and physician orders
- Support physicians and nurses with clinical tasks such as X-ray procedures, basic life support (BLS), and anatomy or physiology assessments
- Document patient information accurately using ICD coding and medical terminology to ensure precise record-keeping
- Conduct patient education on treatment plans, medication administration, and post-procedure care
- Manage medical administrative support tasks including appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and maintaining patient flow efficiency in busy clinics or hospital units
Requirements
- Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program is required
- Proven experience working in healthcare environments such as hospital medicine, emergency medicine, or outpatient clinics—preferably with Level I or Level II trauma center exposure
- Knowledge of dermatology procedures, inpatient care protocols, ICU (PICU) experience, and medical-surgical practices is highly desirable
- Familiarity with EHR systems, ICD coding, and medical terminology to ensure accurate documentation
- Ability to perform clinical duties such as vital signs measurement, intake assessments, medication administration, and basic X-ray procedures
- Strong understanding of anatomy and physiology relevant to various specialties including geriatrics and internal medicine
- Demonstrated commitment to patient service excellence with excellent communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments like urgent care centers or hospital units requiring Level I Trauma Center experience
