Certified Medical Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care and support clinical operations across various specialties, including dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, and outpatient clinics. Your expertise will help ensure smooth patient flow, accurate documentation, and high-quality medical services in a fast-paced environment. Duties

  • Assist with patient intake by gathering medical histories, verifying insurance information, and updating electronic health records (EHR systems)
  • Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, temperature, and oxygen saturation levels
  • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures in outpatient, inpatient, or emergency settings including Level I Trauma Centers and Level II Trauma Centers
  • Support physicians with clinical tasks such as medication administration, wound care, X-ray procedures, and basic life support (BLS) protocols
  • Conduct ICD coding for diagnoses and procedures to ensure accurate billing and documentation
  • Assist with specialized areas including dermatology clinics, geriatrics, internal medicine, medical-surgical units, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), OR (Operating Room), and emergency medicine settings
  • Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to safety standards and hospital protocols

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and pharmacology relevant to various specialties including dermatology, geriatrics, internal medicine, and emergency medicine
  • Experience working in hospital environments such as Level I or Level II trauma centers with inpatient or outpatient care responsibilities
  • Proficiency in EHR systems for documentation of patient encounters and ICD coding accuracy
  • Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically across diverse populations
  • Ability to perform clinical procedures such as vital signs collection, medication administration, X-ray assistance, and basic life support (BLS) certification
  • Familiarity with medical-surgical practices and clinic operations in fast-paced healthcare settings
  • Experience supporting medical teams in urgent care or emergency medicine environments with a focus on patient safety and efficient workflow

Pay: $15.00 - $21.00 per hour
