Position Summary:

We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our team on a per diem or part-time basis. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care. As a CMA in our practice, you will support both administrative and clinical functions to ensure efficient operations and a positive patient experience.

This role offers flexible scheduling options, including a combination of in-person and remote work, to accommodate both the practice’s needs and your availability.

Key Responsibilities: Clinical Duties (In-Person):

  • Prepare exam rooms and assist providers during patient visits.
  • Take and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration).
  • Perform routine clinical tasks such as specimen collection for lab testing.
  • Administer immunizations and medications under provider supervision.
  • Assist with minor procedures and wound care.
  • Ensure cleanliness and sterilization of medical instruments and work areas.

Administrative Duties (In-Person or Remote):

  • Schedule patient appointments and manage patient check-ins/check-outs.
  • Maintain accurate and updated patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Answer phone calls, handle patient inquiries, and relay messages to the clinical team.
  • Coordinate prescription refills and prior authorizations.
  • Support telehealth services by assisting with virtual visit preparation and follow-up.

Qualifications:

  • Certification: CMA credential from an accredited organization (e.g., AAMA, AMT, NHA) preferred, but not required.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a primary care or outpatient setting is preferred.
  • Skills:
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records systems.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Availability: Flexible schedule, including potential weekday and occasional weekend shifts. Remote work options may vary based on practice needs.

Compensation:

  • Hourly Rate: $20 to $24 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
