Position Summary:
We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our team on a per diem or part-time basis. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care. As a CMA in our practice, you will support both administrative and clinical functions to ensure efficient operations and a positive patient experience.
This role offers flexible scheduling options, including a combination of in-person and remote work, to accommodate both the practice’s needs and your availability.
Key Responsibilities: Clinical Duties (In-Person):
- Prepare exam rooms and assist providers during patient visits.
- Take and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration).
- Perform routine clinical tasks such as specimen collection for lab testing.
- Administer immunizations and medications under provider supervision.
- Assist with minor procedures and wound care.
- Ensure cleanliness and sterilization of medical instruments and work areas.
Administrative Duties (In-Person or Remote):
- Schedule patient appointments and manage patient check-ins/check-outs.
- Maintain accurate and updated patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Answer phone calls, handle patient inquiries, and relay messages to the clinical team.
- Coordinate prescription refills and prior authorizations.
- Support telehealth services by assisting with virtual visit preparation and follow-up.
Qualifications:
- Certification: CMA credential from an accredited organization (e.g., AAMA, AMT, NHA) preferred, but not required.
- Experience: Previous experience in a primary care or outpatient setting is preferred.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in electronic medical records systems.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and professionalism.
- Availability: Flexible schedule, including potential weekday and occasional weekend shifts. Remote work options may vary based on practice needs.
Compensation:
- Hourly Rate: $20 to $24 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
