Certified Medical Assistant

Overview
Seeking Certified Medical Assistant for busy Internal Medicine Office. Must have a minimum of 2 years back-office experience. This position is a Monday – Thursday work week (average 36 + hours per week). E Clinical Works experience is a plus. Salary dependent on experience but starts at $16 per hour.

Duties

• Perform patient intake procedures, including collecting medical histories and documenting symptoms accurately in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
• Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to assist providers in assessing patient health status
• Assist with clinical tasks like medication administration, specimen collection, wound dressing
• Assist providers during examinations and procedures ensuring patient comfort and safety
• Maintain thorough documentation of patient interactions, ICD coding for diagnoses, and procedural notes following healthcare regulations
• Manage medical administrative tasks including appointment scheduling, patient registration,medication and procedural prior authorizations, and managing incoming calls

Requirements

• Certified Medical Assistant credential from an accredited program; current certification required
• 2 years experience in clinic or hospital settings; experience in internal medicine/geriatrics is highly desirable
• Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and ICD coding standards to accurately document patient encounters
• Familiarity with EHR systems for efficient data entry and retrieval; E Clinical Works experience is a plus
• Ability to perform clinical skills such as vital signs measurement, medication administration, and basic life support (BLS) certification required
• Strong communication skills with a focus on patient service excellence; ability to handle fast-paced environments with professionalism and compassion
