Job Overview
At Elite Healthcare in Cross Roads, Texas, we are seeking a motivated and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant to join our growing Family and Women’s Health practice. This role includes obtaining patient histories, recording vital signs, triaging patients, administering injections and EKGs, and supporting providers with general clinical duties. The position also offers the opportunity to assist with front desk and administrative responsibilities as needed, providing a well-rounded experience within the practice.

While at least one year of medical experience is preferred, it is not required for the right candidate who is eager to learn and grow in a team-oriented environment.

Duties

  • Assist with patient intake procedures by collecting comprehensive medical histories and vital signs using EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems.
  • Prepare patients for examinations or procedures by explaining processes clearly and ensuring comfort throughout their visit.
  • Perform clinical tasks such as administering medications, drawing blood, and assisting with minor procedures.
  • Support staff with tasks including medication administration
  • Manage medical administrative support duties such as scheduling appointments, updating patient records, verifying insurance information, and processing referrals
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations by maintaining accurate documentation of patient care activities and assisting with care coordination

Requirements

  • Current certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program; certification must be valid and up-to-date.
  • Experience working in diverse healthcare settings
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration protocols.
  • Experience with EHR systems for documentation of patient encounters and clinical data management.
  • Ability to perform clinical procedures including vital signs measurement and medication administration.
  • Strong patient service skills with a compassionate approach
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within fast-paced outpatient environments.

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
