Medical Assistant with Phlebotomy experience

Job Description
Responsibilities of the job:
Lead a team of healthcare professionals performing front desk and medical functions
Lead the care team in morning preparation
Perform nursing procedures under the supervision of the doctor
Assist doctor in examinations
Perform all aspects of patient in processing from insurance verification, data entry through Electronic Health Record, patient preparation and information gathering before the patient being seen by a provider and patient out-processing
Comfortable with performing the duties of a receptionist
Gives instructions to patients as instructed by the doctor
Takes blood pressure pulse, temperature, and respiration
Proficient in phlebotomy, specimen acquisition, processing, and submission to the lab
Assists with any procedures that have been taught through formal training or by licensed nurse or provider
Assists in lab procedures under the supervision of the provider and for which training has been given
Communicate with other medical professionals via the phone, email, and fax
Member of a Health and Wellness Team
Team Leader to Health and Wellness Clients
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years experience as an MA or CNA preferred
Completed an accredited medical assistant or Certified Nurse Assistant program. Certification is a plus.
Typing proficiency: fluent
Phlebotomy skills a plus
Possess a willingness to accept orders and to perform repetitive tasks
Loyal in matters relating to the office
Has an awareness of the need for discretion and keeping confidential matters relating to the patients and their problems
Experience in a medical environment as a medical assistant
Experience with the use of Electronic Medical Records and Electronic Health Records
Professional level telephone etiquette
Basic Computer proficiency
Personal Qualities:
Mentally alert, in good physical health to keep pace in a fast-paced solo provider family practice medical practice committed to total health and wellness
Professional in high-pressure situations, patient, courteous, and tactful with a neat and friendly appearance.
Ability to communicate and relate well with providers and other office staff
Must be able to follow direction well from providers, nurse, and manager
A team player with the maturity to also lead when the opportunity arises
The ability to function in a fast paced environment
Organized
Excellent people skill - due to the highly personal level of involvement with patients in a solo family practice/ health and wellness medical environment on the cutting edge of treatment with the goal of minimal medication usage

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
