We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures, ensuring comfort and safety.
- Perform clinical tasks including taking vital signs, administering medications, and conducting intake assessments.
- Maintain accurate patient records using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with medical terminology and coding standards such as ICD coding.
- Provide medical administrative support including scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and handling correspondence.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in various settings such as outpatient clinics, urgent care facilities, and hospitals.
- Support patients through education on treatment plans and follow-up care.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinical environment in accordance with health regulations.
- Participate in emergency procedures when necessary, utilizing basic life support skills.
Requirements
- Certification as a Medical Assistant or Phlebotomy Program from an accredited program is recommended.
- Collecting patient specimens.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology is essential.
- Familiarity with EHR systems for efficient documentation and patient management.
- Strong skills in patient care with an emphasis on service excellence and empathy towards patients of all ages including geriatrics and pediatrics (PICU).
- Understanding of medication administration protocols and vital sign monitoring.
- Experience in outpatient or medical-surgical settings is beneficial.
