Certified Medical Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care and administrative support, with experience in various medical settings including dermatology, urgent care, and hospital medicine. This role is crucial in ensuring that our patients receive the highest quality of care while maintaining efficient clinic operations.

Duties

  • Provide direct patient care, including taking vital signs, performing intake assessments, and administering medications as prescribed.
  • Assist healthcare providers with examinations and procedures in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
  • Maintain accurate patient records using EHR systems, ensuring all medical terminology and ICD coding is correctly documented.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver exceptional patient service and support across various specialties such as internal medicine, geriatrics, and emergency medicine.
  • Conduct routine tasks such as preparing patients for X-rays and other diagnostic tests, as well as assisting during surgical procedures in the OR when necessary.
  • Uphold knowledge of physiology and anatomy to effectively communicate with patients about their conditions and treatment plans.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized clinical environment.

Requirements

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program is required.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and physiology knowledge.
  • Experience in hospital settings (Level I or Level II trauma center experience preferred) or clinic environments is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in basic life support techniques; certification must be current.
  • Familiarity with urgent care practices and medical-surgical procedures is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service; ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
  • Previous experience with pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) or outpatient services is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
