Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. Duties
- Perform patient intake by collecting comprehensive medical histories and documenting symptoms accurately
- Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration to assist clinicians in diagnosis and treatment planning
- Assist with clinical procedures including medication administration, wound care, X-ray preparation, and basic life support when needed
- Support physicians and nurses with medical tasks in inpatient, outpatient, emergency medicine, and Level I or Level II trauma center settings
- Utilize Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems to document patient information, ICD coding for diagnoses, and treatment details precisely
- Prepare examination rooms and assist with medical-surgical procedures in various specialties such as geriatrics, internal medicine, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), or OR (Operating Room) environments
- Provide excellent patient service by addressing questions, ensuring comfort, and maintaining professionalism throughout the patient visit
Experience
- Prior experience working as a Medical Assistant in hospital medicine or outpatient clinics is highly preferred
- Familiarity with dermatology, urgent care, emergency medicine, or Level I/II trauma centers enhances your ability to excel in this role
- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology is essential for accurate patient assessment and documentation
- Experience supporting inpatient or outpatient care settings with skills like intake procedures and vital sign collection is advantageous
- Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program is required; additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS) are strongly recommended
- Previous exposure to X-ray procedures or medication administration in clinical settings will be considered a plus
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments such as hospital or emergency departments enhances your fit for this role
