Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
to join our team at the Brooklyn Office-Based Lab (OBL). This role plays a vital part in supporting physicians, registered nurses, and the overall surgical team to ensure smooth, safe, and effective procedure days. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, detail-oriented, and passionate about delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced clinical setting.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist Registered Nurses during pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases of patient care.

Prepare patients for procedures, including initial intake, vitals, and comfort measures.

Support physicians with all procedural needs to ensure efficient clinical workflows.

Monitor and care for patients before and after surgery.

Perform floor duties including but not limited to:

Waste disposal and management

Equipment sanitization and turnover
-
Docking stations and OR room prep/maintenance

Document accurately and timely in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.

Take and record vital signs, and assist with clinical charting and documentation tasks.

Assist with organizing, disseminating, and storing patient records and treatment plans.

Ensure smooth daily operations by identifying and addressing any needs that arise throughout the day.

Maintain medical inventory and communicate supply needs to leadership.

Uphold infection control and safety standards in all patient care and facility protocols.
Qualifications:
-
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential required.

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.

Minimum 1 year of experience in a medical assistant role; OBL or surgical center experience strongly preferred.

Proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Strong communication skills, professional and personable demeanor.

Demonstrated ability to work well as part of a collaborative team.

High degree of critical thinking, situational awareness, and problem-solving.

Strong work ethic and willingness to take initiative on miscellaneous and ad hoc tasks.

Spanish/English bilingual skills are a plus, but not required.
Education & Certification:

High school diploma or equivalent (required)
