Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)

Join a team that cares. Pacific Northwest Urology Specialists, PLLC is an independent, locally owned urology clinic that cares for patients in Whatcom County. We are a fast-paced Urology clinic seeking to find an individual who is efficient and detail oriented to fill a full-time position.

We are looking for a CMA who has an interest in working in a urology clinic. No previous knowledge of urology is required, but we are looking for someone who is curious and willing to learn about it! Training for everything connected to urology care will be provided!

This position is well-suited for someone with great energy who is able to triage and multi-task. You will support day-to-day operations by performing tasks that aid the providers in keeping the momentum of care continuing for the patients. You will serve as a liaison between providers and patients as well as, provider and front office staff.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare patients for examination and treatment. Takes and records patient history and vital signs.
  • Prepares exam and treatment rooms; select, setup and maintain medical supplies and equipment for all examinations and procedures.
  • Gives injections, draws blood, applies dressings, and facilitates simple wound management, and catheterize patients under physician orders.
  • Prepares and maintains supplies and equipment for treatment, including sterilization.
  • May assist in scheduling patients for tests, initial and follow up appointments.
  • May maintain patient files, records, and other information including entry of data into electronic medical record.
  • May provide phone assessment of patient to appropriate clinical staff and/or physician.
  • Collaborates with a variety of personnel and departments to ensure smooth clinic operations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting program required.

Current BLS certification recommended within 30 days of hire.

Minimum of one year of clinical experience in a medical office setting is preferred, but not required.

License Requirement and/or Other Requirements: Must pass a criminal background check, current licensure verification and the OIG Exclusion List.
