Seva Medical is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant to join our thriving medical practice. The successful candidate will work alongside a team of healthcare professionals to provide exceptional care to our patients. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills, a strong work ethic, and a passion for patient care, while working remotely.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Record accurate patient medical histories, symptoms, and other pertinent information into electronic medical record (EMR) for provider visits.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on disease prevention, and treatment options.
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Respond to communication including phone calls, emails, faxes in a timely and professional manner to ensure prompt patient care.
- Ensure referrals are successfully, sent, received and completed. Follow up as needed with referral partners.
- Other duties as assigned within the medical assistant’s scope of practice.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- A proficient understanding of medical terminology to accurately interpret and communicate information within a healthcare setting.
- Proficient in the use of computers and various software applications including electronic health records, scheduling platforms, and office productivity tools.
- Strong multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize when working in a fast paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally.
- Ability to function effectively in a team to achieve goals and support organizational success.
- Excellent customer service skills and a strong proficiency in displaying patience, empathy, and professionalism in all patient interactions.
- Ability to self motivate and see a task from start to finish.
Required Qualifications:
- Current, unrestricted MA WA state license, national preferred
- Chronic Care Management (CCM) experience is a plus
- 1 year of healthcare experience preferred
