We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Certified Medical Assistant-Coordinator/Lead to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily clinical activities within the medical team, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to protocols.
- Assist with patient intake procedures, including collecting vital signs, updating medical histories, and verifying insurance information.
- Support physicians and healthcare providers in performing procedures such as X-ray imaging, medication administration, and basic life support during emergencies.
- Manage electronic health record (EHR) systems accurately for documentation of patient encounters, ICD coding, and treatment plans.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments by applying knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology to ensure comprehensive care.
- Oversee clinic operations related to dermatology, urgent care, hospital medicine, geriatrics, internal medicine, and other specialties as needed.
- Lead training sessions for staff on new protocols, safety procedures, and updates in medical-surgical or emergency medicine practices.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies including Level I Trauma Center or Level II Trauma Center standards when applicable.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in outpatient and inpatient settings such as PICU or OR environments to optimize patient outcomes.
- Maintain high levels of patient service by addressing concerns promptly and providing compassionate support throughout the care process.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant credential from an accredited program is required.
- Proven experience in dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, or related specialties is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, ICD coding, medication administration, and medical terminology.
- Experience working within hospital environments such as Level I or Level II trauma centers; clinic experience is also valuable.
- Proficiency with EHR systems and familiarity with medical-surgical procedures; X-ray or OR experience is a plus.
- Ability to perform vital signs assessment, intake procedures, and basic emergency response techniques including BLS certification.
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically in fast-paced settings.
- Knowledge of inpatient/outpatient workflows across various specialties including geriatrics and internal medicine.
