Modern dermatology office seeking a reliable, professional, friendly certified medical assistant to embark on this new journey with us! Applicants must be willing to provide superior customer service and have a good attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Greet patients with a smile, room them efficiently
- Obtain medical history, medication list, and reason for visit in detail
- Ensure there are no outstanding pathology or imaging that need further attention
- Set up exam rooms, stock rooms at end of night
- Sterilize instruments, maintain quality control of autoclave and refrigeration
- Keep inventory of supplies and order appropriately
- Obtain appropriate consent before procedures and take standardized photos for cosmetics
- Perform assistant procedures such as suture removal, dressing changes, patch testing
- Educate patients on treatment plans after visit, explain wound care
- Keep sample closet organized
- Fill out pathology and laboratory requisition forms for lab
- Prepare e-Rx
- Scribe medical note as dictated by physician- must have good written and oral medical terminology knowledge and spelling skills
- Register ipledge patients
- Maintain pathology log, complete patient call-backs and schedule procedures if necessary
- Respond to patient messages
- Learn about different procedures and products to discuss intelligently with patients
- Maintain clean, safe exam rooms
- Protect patients' rights according to HIPAA guidelines
- Contribute to team effort by cross-training as needed
- Interact professionally with other employees and guests
Qualifications:
RECENT phlebotomy experience is strongly recommended.
- Punctual attendance is required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enjoys working with people
- Strong multi-tasking abilities
- Self-motivated and team-oriented
- Positive, outgoing attitude
- Experience in a medical office, preferably dermatology
- Must be comfortable using EMR, iPad
- Flexible hours
- Spanish Language preferred, not required
