Certified Medical Assistant – Physician Services

Location: Hackensack, NJ 07601
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM | 40 Hours/Week

Position Overview

A leading healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Certified Medical Assistant to support a busy outpatient cardiovascular clinic. This role requires a strong combination of clinical and clerical skills, excellent patient communication, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced physician practice environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare exam and treatment rooms, supplies, and medical instruments
• Room patients and assist providers during examinations and procedures
• Obtain and accurately document vital signs in EMR systems
• Perform EKGs, Holter Monitor setup, Event Monitor setup, and patient triage calls
• Assist with patient intake, chart preparation, and clinical documentation
• Support physicians with patient care coordination and procedures
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure documentation compliance
• Perform administrative and front-office support duties as needed
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain patient confidentiality
• Deliver high-quality patient care and customer service

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of recent Medical Assistant experience required
• Experience with vital signs, triage calls, EKGs, Holter Monitors, Event Monitors, and assisting physicians required
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
• Strong computer, EMR, and data entry skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

Required Certifications

• Current AHA BLS Certification required
• One of the following certifications required:
  • CMA (NHA)
  • CMA (NCCT)
  • CMA (AAMA)
  • RMA (AMT)
  • RMA (NAHP)
  • AMCA
  • NCMA
