Maria Fertility sees anywhere from 1300-1500 patients per day and is responsible for over 20,000 egg retrievals per year.

What is the Medical Assistant Role?

The Medical Assistant is responsible for providing medical assistance to providers, including rooming patients, updating all components of the patient’s medical history, ordering labs through our EMR, and performing blood draw and collection. Assists the provider with office procedures including, but not limited to, biopsies, surgeries and treatments for infertility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Works as part of a team to ensure patient care
  • Upload patient medical records and enter lab results
  • Measure vital signs
  • Updates all patient medical/surgical/family history, medications and allergies
  • Preps and assists numerous surgical procedures such as egg retrievals, D&Cs, endometrial biopsies, hysteroscopies and others.
  • Provide instructions to patients as instructed by physician or nurse
  • Supporting clinical team, front desk coverage as needed
  • Maintain and clean exam rooms and procedure rooms
  • Maintain all logs and perform required checks
  • Cleans and stocks patient examination rooms and supply areas.
  • Follows infection control practices.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Phlebotomy (draw and label blood tubes)
  • Send out bloods and specimens to outside labs as needed
  • Wash and autoclave instruments

Qualifications:

The right candidate will have strong communication skills, be able to multi task, work independently and as part of a team and bring a positive attitude to the workplace environment.

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience as a medical assistant preferred in fertility or obstetrics/gynecology, but not required
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)
  • Excellent customer service skills and must enjoy serving patients and interacting with them.
  • 2 years of experience in a professional work environment, healthcare preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Exhibit courteous, compassionate and respectful treatment of internal and external customers and displays a positive attitude and flexibility in changing situations.
  • Strong ethics and high level of personal and professional integrity.

The employee must occasionally lift, push, pull and/or move up to 25 pounds. Repetitive motion of upper body required for extended use of computer. Required specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Compensation-Based on experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $29.00 per hour
