Responsibilities
- Complete structured training modules covering medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medication administration protocols.
- Learn to accurately prepare, administer, and document medications following HIPAA guidelines and medical documentation standards.
- Gain hands-on experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic and Cerner for efficient patient record management.
- Develop skills in vital signs measurement, catheter care, tube feeding procedures, and other patient care techniques essential for senior and specialized care.
- Understand the unique needs of individuals in assisted living, memory care, hospice, and acute care environments.
- Practice effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure quality care delivery.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols and privacy regulations while working with medical records and sensitive information.
Skills
- Strong interest or experience in assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care settings.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic nursing principles.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner is a plus.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform medication administration accurately and responsibly following established procedures.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages and backgrounds.
