Duties

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews using advanced clinical evaluation techniques.
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans incorporating evidence-based practices such as pain management, wound suturing, IV infusions, and catheterization.
  • Perform specialized procedures including dermal fillers, esthetic laser treatments, spinal taps, and cardiac catheterizations with precision and sterile technique.
  • Manage acute and chronic conditions across various settings such as emergency rooms, intensive care units (ICUs), hospital medicine wards, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and outpatient clinics.
  • Utilize EMR systems like Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks, and Athenahealth for accurate medical documentation, coding (ICD-10/ICD-9/CPT), and billing processes aligned with HCPCS standards.
  • Provide patient education on topics like nutrition, medication administration, health coaching, family planning, and memory care strategies for dementia or Alzheimer's patients.
  • Engage in telehealth consultations to extend care access remotely while maintaining HIPAA compliance and infection control protocols.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on discharge planning, utilization review, case management, and post-acute care coordination to optimize patient outcomes.

Experience

  • Proven clinical experience in diverse settings such as emergency medicine, hospital medicine, ICU or trauma centers (Level I or II trauma experience preferred), or outpatient clinics.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing complex cases involving infectious disease care, occupational health issues including Workers' Compensation law adherence, hospice & palliative medicine or geriatrics.
  • Hands-on experience with advanced procedures like venipuncture (phlebotomy), sterile processing techniques for suturing or tube feeding placement.
  • Familiarity with medical imaging interpretation (sonography), laboratory specimen collection/processing, and diagnostic evaluation tools.
  • Strong background working with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner; proficiency in CPT coding for billing purposes is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with special populations including pediatric (pediatrics & neonatal ventilator) or neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) patients; expertise in working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities is a plus.
  • Knowledge of pharmacology related to psychopharmacology and pain management; ability to administer injections and manage airway equipment like ventilators or oxygen therapy devices. Pay: $35.00 - $65.00 per hour
