Job Overview

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care by assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, observe patient conditions, and report changes promptly to nursing staff.
  • Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring accurate documentation in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Assist with specialized care needs including Alzheimer's, dementia, memory care and working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety.

  • Support patients during transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices while maintaining proper body mechanics.
  • Engage in ongoing training related to medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and specialized care such as infectious disease management or geriatrics.

Requirements

  • Valid CNA certification from an accredited program; active state licensure required.
  • Proven experience working in diverse healthcare environments such as hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, outpatient clinics, or home care settings.

  • Knowledge of vital signs measurement, medication reminding protocols, ADL's care, and infection control and safety protocols.
  • Experience supporting patients with complex needs such as Alzheimer’s/dementia care conditions is highly desirable.

  • Strong communication skills coupled with compassion for patient-centered care; physical stamina for long shifts including standing and lifting.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 4 – 40 per week
